Life is an amalgamation of people and places. With our work every project is a new face and a new place. This has an infectious energy to it. Yet, we also get to experience the long quiet walk through acres of woods; properties where noise disappears and imagination runs wild. Every project, every opportunity is predictably new and exciting.

Our company is local to Wisconsin, however our clients and passion for design have stretched our reach across the country.
About John Melby
The son of a builder and a teacher, John channels both of these backgrounds within his daily approach to passionate design. In his youth, he recalls walking around his childhood home drawing the floor plans. He followed his heart into architecture school. Upon graduating with his Bachelor of Architecture, John worked at a large commercial firm learning key components on how to run and manage a successful design business. His intrepid work ethic has curated unique opportunities and rapid growth in the design industry. With Melby Design, he has fused the complexity, detail level, management, and software implementation from the commercial design world and blended it with the charm, scale, intimacy, and design process of residential design.
When not in the office, you can find John playing sports with his kids, cooking wood fired pizza with his wife, traveling to new places, and being involved in his community.
